Treatment Presentation Skills Course

We had a small turnout for the course on treatment presentation skills and personality typing, yet the attendees were treated to some practical skills that will improve their communication with their patients. Dr. Don Thomas (President-Elect of the Florida AGD) started the meeting with a brief update of what is happening at the state level in dentistry and why it matters to local dentists. He reminded us that the AGD is the ONLY dental organization that represents the general dentist and that we need to improve our membership statistics by encouraging our neighboring dentists to join the AGD.

Linda Drevenstedt, of Drevenstedt Consulting (St. Augustine, FL) gave a presentation on the use of DISC personality profiling in the dental office. Her practical approach left us all ready to return to our offices and use our new-found skills. We are thankful to Linda for her willingness to donate her time to lecture to our group! It was not difficult to see why she is a successful practice management consultant!

Dr. Michael Kelly followed with a presentation on co-diagnostic treatment presentation with an emphasis on the use of digital photography. If you would like a copy of this presentation, please email mtkellydmd@agd.org.

One attendee commented as follows:

"Thank you for a very informative, well organized meeting, in a very laid back, friendly and personal setting.

It was my privilege and honor to be with the members of the CFAGD.

Yours truly,

Joe "

We hope to see you at our next event in the spring of 2010!

CF-AGD Makes Donation to Dental Clinic

The board recently approved a donation to the Good Samaritan Dental Clinic in Orange City, FL. This faith-based non-profit all volunteer clinic provides care to those who qualify in West Volusia County. Further donations of time, money, equipment, or instruments will be appreciated. The board applauds this effort in dealing with the access to care problem in our own territory.

Election Time!

The CFAGD Board is taking nominations for officers for 2010. The seats for President-elect (Vice-President), Secretary and at least two At-Large Members are open for appointment. The time you will invest will be far outweighed by the benefits of having a local voice in dentistry. Send your nominations to us by emailing mtkellydmd@agd.org.
